Overview
Peppol is a cross-border electronic purchasing system. It's simple. It includes a variety of components and specifications, such as a central director or standards for e-invoicing. OpenPEPPOL manages Peppol's administration using multilateral agreements. Peppol is not a platform, but an open cross-border network. Peppol members can connect and share digital procurement documents. peppol e-invoicing as well as the entire tendering process (eprocurement). It supports Directive 2014/55/EU that allows electronic billing in public procurement.
Peppol's success is due to the interoperability between the various e-procurement systems and processes within members as well as the ease of onboarding suppliers and customers. Peppol's enormous potential and obvious benefits have been recognized in Asia, Latin America and North America.
What is the Peppol network and what does it do?
PEPPOL uses OASIS Universal Business Language (UBL) as per ISO/IEC 19845.
what is peppol EDelivery allows communication. This directory service, similar to the Yellow Pages, helps to identify recipients and the support processes they use. It also offers access points to providers.
Peppol works with a 4-corner model. The outer edge refers to the location of the recipient or sender, while the access points are located at the two corners. A document is sent by the sender to his Peppol access point (e.g. an electronic invoice). The document is sent to the Peppol Access point. The document is then sent to his Peppol Access Point. His counterpart can retrieve it. The network can also be contacted by his counterpart. The network forwards the reply document to the recipient's Access Point, which can then be pulled into the recipient’s internal Invoicing Software.
Peppol assigns dynamic address points addresses. The receiver's PeppolID is used to request the Service Metadata Locator(SML), which gives details about the address and contact information for the Service Metadata Provider (SMP). The SMP will respond with the format that the receiver is most comfortable with and the address of the receiving access points. The process begins if the files are in supported formats.
